UDAY CHANDRA is Assistant Professor, Government at Georgetown University, Qatar.

ASHOKE CHATTERJEE served the National Institute of Design for 25 years. He continues to serve a range of social, educational and rights causes and is Advisor to the Crafts Council of India of which he was President. His writings include Dances of the Golden Hall (ICCR) on the art of Shanta Rao, Rising (Business Standard Books) on quests for dignity and hope in rural Gujarat, and Can Our Future Be Handmade? (CCRT).

SUPRIYA CHAUDHURI is Professor of English, Jadavpur University, Kolkata

MANDAKINI DUBEY is Assistant Professor of English and Writing at Ashoka University. Since completing her PhD in English at Duke University, she has taught in the US and India, and is now based in New Delhi.

VIPUL DUTTA is a PhD student at King’s College London. His research is on the impact of both the World Wars on the Indian Army’s officer corps.

SABEENA GADIHOKE is Associate Professor, Video and TV Production at the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She is also a filmmaker and cameraperson. Her book Chronicles of Homai Vyarawalla was published by Mapin Publishing in 2006.

TRISHA GUPTA is freelance writer and critic. Her published writing – on books, art photography, cinema and the city – is archived on her blog Chhotahazri (www.trishagupta.blogspot.com). She lives in New Delhi.

SYED AKBAR HYDER is Associate Professor of Asian Studies and Islamic Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

NANDINI LAL is a writer and critic based in Washington DC.

LAWRENCE LIANG is a researcher and writer based in Bangalore. He works with the Alternative Law Forum and is interested in the relationship between law and culture.

RUKMINI BHAYA NAIR is Professor of Linguistics and English at IIT Delhi. Author of several academic books and three volumes of poetry, she has recently published her first novel, Mad Girl’s Love Song (HarperCollins Publishers India, 2013).

Janice Pariat is the author of Boats on Land: A Collection of Short Stories (Random House India, 2012) and Seahorse: A Novel (Random House India, 2014). She was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puruskar and Crossword Award for Fiction. She currently lives in New Delhi.

MANISHA SETHI teaches at the Centre for the Study of Comparative Religions and Civilizations at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She is the author, most recently, of Kafkaland: Prejudice, Law and Counterterrorism in India (Three Essays, 2014).

SONAL SHAH is a freelance writer based in Delhi. She has worked as an editor at The Caravan and editor-in-chief of Time Out Delhi, and her writing can be read at www.sonalshah.in.

HARISH TRIVEDI is an alumnus and former teacher of Allahabad University. He later taught at St Stephen’s College Delhi, and at the universities of Delhi, Chicago and London.
